1. Explain what you do in your role with OnDeck.
JW: Like most OnDeck veterans, I’ve worn many hats since my start date. I’ve worked on everything from office administration to assisting senior management raise debt and equity for the company. Right now, I’m focused on developing enhanced KPIs (key performance indicators) for the various departments of the company.

2. Why did you decide to join OnDeck?
JW: I come from a family of small-business owners. My parents, as well as my brother and sister, each own their own restaurant in New York City. OnDeck was the perfect place to utilize my quantitative skill-set while at the same time helping Main Street business owners.

3. In your opinion, what is the best part about working at OnDeck?
JW: The people that I work with. I genuinely enjoy the work that I do, but my coworkers are what makes this job exceptional. I’m able to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in New York City. Also, the senior management team is very accessible and always willing to provide guidance and aid in my development.

4. What advice would you give to someone looking to join the company?
JW: Be hungry. I believe that the driving force behind our growth is how passionate our employees are about their work. We are all constantly striving to better ourselves while working on projects that will help move the company to the next level. With this type of culture, I truly believe that anything is possible.

5. What would someone be surprised to know about OnDeck?
JW: Our headcount has essentially doubled each year. We’re creating jobs both internally and externally with the funding we provide to small businesses.
